In 1976 my husband George developed an innovative filter for compressed air and Process Scientific Innovations was born, after much research in the dictionary for words to represent the initials PSI.The first year was a hard slog, with all the infrastructure in place, draining resources and no sales. But in 1977 the first export sale was made and we've never looked back. We have continued to grow from strength to strength, although export business has fallen from 100% to 70% through increased home sales.In 1989 we obtained the Queens Award to Industry for Export

This was an exciting venture with all the youthful energetic enthusiasm where we were going to show all the old conservative fuddy duddy businesses how business should be run!Over a period of time, which included me sitting on the living room floor making filters by hand, we learned from bitter experience that business was far more complex than we thought!However, we persevered and in 3 years went from a standing start to exporting to the USA and Japan.
