Extensive use of NMR spectroscopy (both Solid and Liquid State NMR) to address critical problems and molecular level understanding in those areas has been the main features of my work here in Indian Oil R & D.

Postdoctoral Research FellowWayne State University Aug 2011 - Apr 2013Detroit Study of reaction kinetics of glycosilation reaction and the influence of differential protecting groups on stereochemical outcome in glycosilation reaction (by extensive use of NMR Spectroscopy). Structure Activity Relationship (SAR)-derived derivatization of aminoglycoside antibiotics, e.g., ribostamycin, kanamycin, apramycin etc. Highly skilled complex organic synthesis, development of new reaction methodology and study of reaction mechanism were in my focus in Prof. Crich’s Lab in WSU. -

Senior Research FellowIndian Association For The Cultivation Of Science Oct 2005 - Nov 2010Kolkata In addition to several other successful synthetic methodologies development of a unique intra-molecular Diels-Alder reaction providing cis/trans-decalin and cis/trans-hydrindane derivatives on tuning the substituent at the diene has been a major achievement in this period of my Ph.D. The developed methodology has successfully been utilized to synthesize a number of natural products, viz., Arteannuin-M/B (decalin)-a biological precursor of Artemisinin, galiellalactone (hydrindane) etc.
