CSS will through its team of experienced professionals, network of advisers, consultants, partner institutions and associations provide quality implementation and consulting services towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To achieve this CSS will work with the state and national government, national and international agencies, bilateral and multi-lateral organizations, corporate and communities. CSS currently boasts of a team that is rich in experience and enthusiasm and its members have led successful careers in engineering, social work, business and academia.

Capacity Development, Programme Management, Research, M&E support to national and international NGOs, donors, governments and corporate.

Responsible for business development and successfully anchored businesses through the implementation of the DFID CLTS project in Odisha, the UNICEF CLTS project in Malda, West Bengal and the Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad CLTS project in Cooch Behar, West Bengal.

Began as a programme coordinator and in 2007 secured the position of the Programme Manager, the position held till I left GOAL in December, 2012. Overall responsibility to manage, guide, support the programme team overseeing all aspects of the programme work including programme design & development, programme implementation monitoring, supervision, coordination, capacity building, M&E, research, reporting, documentation and knowledge management. Also served as the focal person for emergency response in India. Key achievements:  Part of the development team and led the implementation of GOAL India’s first Country Strategic Plan 2007- 2011), consisting of multi-actor, multi-level programmes addressing the health (including WASH & nutrition), Education and Livelihood needs of the urban and rural poor. As the Emergency focal person, I supported GOAL in the needs assessment and implementation of the emergency response programme in the states of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry after the Indian Ocean Tsunami (2004). Led assessments and emergency programme implementation for floods in Assam (2007), Cyclone “Sidr” in Bangladesh (2007), Floods in Orissa (2010), Assam (2012) Bihar (2008), West Bengal (2009) Cyclone “Aila” in West Bengal (2009), and provided back office support to emergency operations for GOAL operations following Cyclone “Nargis” in Myanmar (2008) and the Pakistan earthquake (2005) and Pakistan floods (2010). Additionally, developed the capacity of the GOAL India team and that of its partners to response to emergencies, through customized training delivered by RedR. Established the GOAL India M&E system, the monitoring system uses an online system to provide real time MIS support to the programme team as well as data for regular reporting requirements to partners and GOAL India. Third party evaluations using quantitative and qualitative methodologies are now an integral part of the GOAL India programme and support programme implementation and reporting.

As the Programme Associate, for the GOI- UNDP Disaster Risk Management Programme led the roll-out and implementation of the country’s first DRM Programme in the North Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. Key achievements:  Set up Disaster Management Cells in the Revenue Departments of the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. Set up Disaster Management training cells at the National Institute of Rural Department (NIRD) and at the Administrative Training Institutes (ATI) of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh and State Institute of Public and Rural Development (SIPARD) in Tripura. Set up and operationalised the Disaster Management Cell at the North Eastern Council under the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (MDoNER).

As the Coordinator -Technology Outreach, responsible for technology development and validation, outreach, business development, project management and knowledge management.Key achievements:  Led the adaptation of the soil block making equipment HYDRAFORM from South Africa to Indian conditions and promotion resulting in the technology being validated by the Building Materials & Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) India in 2002. Promoted low energy building materials through large scale building materials enterprises in Odisha, through a housing reconstruction project following the cyclone of 1999. Supported construction technology transfer to reconstruction projects after the Gujarat earthquake of 2001.

Self- employed engineering and construction consultant -clients, MES, CPWD, PHED, PWD (Buildings, Roads & bridges), MSC S&T etc.Key achievements: Conducted a large topographical survey for a proposed cement plant by ACC Cements Limited in the border of Meghalaya and Bangladesh. Constructed the first low energy building in Meghalaya, the Mary Rice Institute for Special education followed by the second low energy building in Meghalaya – Indoor Badminton court in the District Magistrates residence, Shillong.
