Biophysicist, Science communicator and Team member of the Folding@home consortium.I utilize the Folding@home distributed-computing platform to study biological processes and how they can mutate to drive disease. Specifically, I am interested in how clinically occurring mutations are able to induce drug resistance phenotypes in cancer, and how we can use biophysical mechanistic information to augment our understanding of mutation induced resistance, sensitivity, and selectivity.By combining physics-based methods with data science and machine learning approaches, I work with labs around the world to understand disease and drive progress to developing therapies for the diseases of today. My thesis work focused on vision, cancer, antibiotic resistance, and the COVID19 pandemic. My current work continues looking at cancer-causing proteins and focuses on drug development methods.
