Zoologist Systematist Curator
CurrentI am curator of NCBI taxonomy for fishes, amphibians, mammals, and non-arthropod invertebrates. My duties include verification of zoological names and identification of type material in sequence submissions to the INSDC databases (GenBank, EMBL, DDBJ), updating animal nomenclature and classification in the NCBI Taxonomy Database, and interacting with sequence annotators, submitters and researchers to ensure accuracy of data associated with sequence submissions. Most of my published research concerns the taxonomy and systematics of fishes. I maintain courtesy titles at two places I worked previously: the Cornell University Museum of Vertebrates in Ithaca, New York and The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
