Plan, design, implement and monitor the Family Economic Advancement Programme (Poverty Elimination Programme). This includes Economic and Social Support parts. The Economic part consists of identification, assessment and selection of poor and ultra-poor families, developing family development plans, drafting business feasibility, conducting training, collaborating with banks, developing sustainable linkages, conducting market research, managing team and budget. The Social Support part includes safety net activities for beneficiary families for covering, Education, ECD, Nutrition, Health, Social Inclusion, Habitat and ensuring provision of timely support.

Bamyan, Afghanistan

As Head of Education Departament I was responsible for planning, designing, implementing and monitoring of education and basic nutrition and health programmes . I supervised and managed about 60 staff ranging from Deputy Managers to Coordinators to Teacher Educators based at Regional, Area and District Offices. The main programmes and interventions which I managed in close coordination with the ministry of education were Community Based Education (CBE), Early Childhood Education (ECD), Accelerated Learning Programmes (ALP) for out of school children, Women Literacy programme, capacity building of teachers, capacity building of Ministry of Education and Catch up Classes for girls. I also provided technical support to the ministry in strategy development, curriculum development and teachers' professional development. The specific responsibilities included but not limited to development and execution of Yearly Plan of Operations, budget management, staff management, coordination with Ministry of Education, coordination with UN and other agencies, support in drafting proposals and reporting on all donors’ grants.

I managed department budget and supervised a team of teacher educators and master trainers in conducting training and workshops for teachers, teacher educators, government officials and community bodies.

As one of the core Technical Advisors of the DFID's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Sector Programme I provided technical support and guidance to the ministry of education for new education initiatives some of which include education voucher programme for low cost private schools children, subsidy programmes for school children and adult literacy programmes. I also provided technical support in developing a strategy for low cost private schools and institutional assessment of Elementary Education Foundation - a government body with mandate of bolstering the low cost private schools. In addition capacity building of teachers/head teachers and improving learning outcomes in schools were also under my main responsibility.

My main responsibilities included planning and implementation of all emergency education programmes and projects of the Norwegian Refugee Council in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education and UNICEF. The most notable of these were Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP) for out of school children and Skills Development Programme for youth. I supervised a team of professional in implementing programmes, training teachers, monitoring activities, providing support to schools/teachers and report on best practices and gaps. I worked closely with Provincial Institute of Teacher Education (PITE) in developing the capacity of teachers for smooth implementation of programmes. My other responsibilities were ensuring tailor made curriculum, assessment of teachers, drafting reports, representing NRC in cluster and other forums and coordination with government, UN and other agencies.

My role was to develop mechanism for effective monitoring and evaluation of the education programmes and ensure accountability and compliance. My main tasks were designing and conducting baselines, assessments, need assessments, surveys and impact assessment studies. I introduced outcome evaluation, managed department budget, built the capacity of staff, conducted a series of lesson learn workshops and drafted reports for different stakeholders.

I was responsible for working closely with the government, and lead a professional team in planning and designing variety of training modules. I supervised a team in conducting different teacher development programmes, provided direction and support to Filed Education Offices in implementation of academic programmes, worked with SMCs/PTAs for school improvement, worked with government education department to ensure monitoring and evaluation of all academic inputs. I was also responsible to ensure smooth students assessment.
