Working at the University of Karachi (UoK), one of the largest and revered public university in the country, is a different and riveting experience. Continuing my journey in teaching and research related to the English language and literature has refined my critical discourse and analytical skills. This is my second academic semester on this post and I have undertaken Early Modern drama, Modern novel, and Writing courses during the term. Meeting people from diverse backgrounds and being able to lecture both undergraduate and graduate level students has been conducive for myself as a researcher and trainer. Along with better networking, I am enjoying the privilege of learning from and working with some of the best scholars in the academia. Additionally, the post has tested my time-management skills and allowed me to organize myself more productively.

I joined The City School PAF Chapter as a grade 8 English teacher in August, 2022. Though it has only been a year, the experience is difficult to publish in a short post. The post and its requirements have taken my vision from being relatively one-dimensional to now being manifold. It has impressed upon me the vitality of meta-cognition on part of the learner and the teacher. Though teaching middle school students is quite the opposite of university teaching, it has been fun to explore how nascent minds develop. Not just the students, but the admirable staff has impressed upon me the necessity of a healthy working environment that I serve under.Thi post has tested and awarded me every step of the way. From time-management to creativity; documentation to event management; self-driven to holistic development- Chapter nourishes me in all the said ways and beyond. I also have recently completed the first part a Professional development training (PD) titled PGCC, an internally designed training by the senior leadership and teachers of The City School, focusing on Lesson planning, Curriculum adaptation, Class management, AFL techniques, and several learning theories and models.With a more sculpted perspective, I am looking forward to another amazing year at PAF chapter.

Due to the coursework requirement of my M.Phil from UoK, I could not work full-time which is why I am grateful to have been given the chance to teach 5 different courses at National University of Modern languages (NUML), namely Classical Drama, Romantic Poetry, Critical Prose, Creative writing, and Academic Writing, as a Visiting lecturer.The journey has been challenging. Nevertheless, it ingrained in me an even better understanding of English Literature, Writing, and its peripheral domains. Vigorous class discussion, Higher-order thinking techniques and the process of putting ideas on paper has only cemented my vocation for my career path. At NUML, I have been able to display the spirit, techniques, and content understanding vital to perform well as a language and literature instructor/facilitator.Finally, becoming a colleague of the incredible faculty I studied under, and a teacher to young minds, has itself taught me respect and methodologies that not only aid in professional but also in personal endeavors. NUML will continue to hold an important place in my life and career.

Working at Learn to Learn (L2L Academy) has been a short but enlightening experience. My role as facilitator exposed me to classroom dynamics, factors affecting learning, and how to think out of the box while planning, teaching, learning, and executing ideas.
