Seconded into the Ministry of Public Health (Qatar) setting up the National Health Policy Function within the Strategic Planning, Performance & Innovation Department

Voluntary role for the award-winning London based grassroots youth charity providing:- Strategic leadership to the charity and board of trustees;- Oversight on governance arrangements relating to charity regulation and operational management; - Leadership to board of trustees, building skills, knowledge and capability to support the charity; and- Facilitating external relations for the charity, including with key stakeholders and influencersLiC Vision: inspire and empower local young people to be active and vocal contributors to the social, economic and cultural well-being of their community.LiC Mission: Through our Youth Leadership and Youth Social Action initiatives, we will provide local young people with training to develop their personal resilience and overcome barriers to progression and equip local young people with the skills and opportunities to speak out about community issues, and challenge inequalities.

- Delivering lectures for the undergraduate MPharm programme and other related postgraduate courses- Delivering clinical simulation classes in areas of Clinical Pharmacy- Developing exam questions - Delivering OSCE examinations

Leadership role with varied experience in leading both operational management and programmes to strengthen medicines policy and supply resilience:- Leading the team’s operational management of national medicine supply issues - Advising ministers and leading parliamentary business on matters relating to medicines and supply chain resilience- Leading the development, co-ordination and implementation of appropriate assurance programmes and mitigation plans for risks to medicines supply identified including but not limited to those relating to COVID-19 and the EU Exit.- Supporting national roll out of COVID-19 therapeutic agents, embedding them into BAU processes- Establishing and strengthening government relationships with UK and global medicine supply chain stakeholders, including trade bodies, individual companies / critical UK medicine suppliers- Representing DHSC at various national and global forums, including Shortages Response Groups for Medicines and Vaccines and The Global Regulatory Shortages Network• Part of the ‘Inspire the Next Generation’ and Catapult schemes providing mentoring and support for young people seeking careers within the Civil Service (CS) and develop existing CS staff from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Key Projects:- Overseeing development of an innovative online tool (DaSH) to digitalise and streamline the notification of medicine supply issues by commercial companies to the DHSC- Subject matter expert advising government's Hormone Replacement Therapy Tsar - Developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to manage the UK’s unprecedented demand for specific medicines during the COVID-19 pandemic. - Establishing a COVID-19 supportive medicines stockpile to enhance the UK’s preparedness for future needs.- Submitted proposal to revolutionise use of data in government which was shortlisted as a semi-finalist (final 8 out of 500+ submissions) gaining interest and sponsorship from senior data officials across government

- Leading the management of national medicine supply issues- DHSC lead on continuity of vaccines supply to the UK market.- Briefing ministers and Chief Medical Officers on medicine supply, including strategies relating to supply chain resilience and planning for EU Exit- Key role in stakeholder engagement- developing strong relationships with key stakeholders across the medicines ecosystem.- Engaging and strengthening an extensive network of domestic and global stakeholders including senior healthcare leaders, regulatory bodies and government officials globally. - Advising on issues relating to pandemic and seasonal influenza preparedness planning as well as general Emergency Preparedness Response and Resilience (EPRR) planning. - Providing professional pharmaceutical advice on the procurement, management and release of medicines from the national stockpile of essential medicines for use in major events affecting medicine supply.- Member of the European Medicines Agency Task Force responsible for the development and implementation of the guidance on detection and notification of shortages (prior to leaving the EU).- Member of the UK government pricing committee providing professional pharmaceutical input and advice to the operation of the Voluntary Scheme for Branded Medicines Pricing and Access.Key projects- Advising on medicines assurance programmes aimed at preparing the UK for EU exit, safeguarding supply of medicines to patients and minimising disruption to the supply chain- Leading the establishment of the national Vaccines Shortages Response Group (SRG) and supportingestablishment of the Medicines SRG- Lead DHSC official in several national EPRR incidents - Leading efforts to introduce a central procurement of PPV23 vaccine- Co-developing the EMA/HMA Guidance on detection and notification of shortages of medicinal products for Marketing Authorisation Holders (MAHs) in the Union (EEA)

Secondment to the national NHS England organisation- leadership role within commercial and access and overseeing NHSE supply function:- Driving national strategy for medicines supply chain management and resilience, proactively working to ensure robust response to issues, supply resilience, supporting and ensuring alignment across the system. - Engaging with key strategic clinical experts, x-governement policy makers and industry bodies to inform development of strategy & operational policies relating to medicines; - Driving access and uptake by maximising the NHS medicines budget and providing system support for emerging innovations;- Identifying enablers and driving reform to support organisational change and uptake of initiatives that support national strategies for medicines;- Supporting development of the medicines infrastructure and capacity in organisations to enable national policy recommendations; and- Providing expertise of best practice methodologies for regulatory requirements, policy imperatives, innovation and technological developments and stakeholders knowledgeKey Projects include:- Led project to enhance Independent Aseptic Compounders' commercial capabilities and supply chain, optimizing medication access, maximizing NHS value, promoting standardization, and driving sector growth and quality improvements.- Led transition of COVID-19 therapeutics procurement, supply, and financing from pandemic measures to Business as Usual (BAU).- Led joint NHSE/DHSC Long Term Medicine Supply Resilience Programme, including UK-wide development of Medicines of Concern (Essential Medicines) List.- Led international engagement with Ministries of Health globally on UK supply resilience strategies.- Led data-driven response to national GLP-1 RAs shortage, coordinating with NICE, DHSC, MHRA, and national clinical experts for regulatory, commercial, clinical, and commissioning options.- Led NHSE response to national EPRR Strep A incident (Winter 2021-22).

- Specialist Neonatal Critical Care and Nutrition Pharmacist at a tertiary neonatal critical care centre in North East region- 42 neonatal critical care beds- Providing a clinical Pharmacy service to wards- Advising MDT on prescription and formulation of bespoke parental nutrition for premature neonates- Providing specialist prescribing advice and conducting literature searches to support use of non formulary specialist drugs- Conducting training to rotational medical and nursing staff on NICU

Role as Chair of Spotlight Youth Centre Committee, the largest youth centre in Europe. Headed team which successfully won a bid for £3.8million to build the youth centre. Headed committee responsible for selecting architects, working with selected architects to design and brand the building and working closely with all stakeholders to ensure all needs were met in timely manner.
