Ensure strategic planning, efficient integration, and implementation of projects and programs to achieve sustainable economic growth and developmentEnsure the preparation and implementation of District Medium-Term Development Plan• Identification of development potentials, problems and constraints in the district and • Ensures compliance with official guidelines in the implementation of development Projects and programs referring them to the appropriate authorities (Departments) for action• Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of external/donor-funded projects and Programs in the district.• Ensure timely preparation and submission of Quarterly and Annual Progress Reports and Development Action Plans.• Secretary to the Development Planning Coordinating Unit and a technical advisor to the Development Planning Sub-committee of the District Assembly• Plans and promotes development initiatives that facilitate public service delivery and effective implementation of economic development projects• Monitors and reports on development projects and programs• Liaises with department and stakeholders to collect inputs necessary to aid in the Formulation of district bye-laws• Advises the Entity Tender Committee and Review Boards • Sensitizes staff and other stakeholders prior to the implementation of new development Policies
