Profile bio

About Sumaiyah Yates

With over 25 years experience in I.T. and more than 10 years focused on audio-visual technology in the workplace, I offer expertise and hands on experience working with the customer -- the end user -- from project conception to project completion. Most of my career has been working in a law firm, so I understand the dynamics of the legal field and the differing atmosphere when working in a law office. My expertise includes knowledge from when Cisco endpoints were Tandberg endpoints, connecting to LifeSize, Polycom, and other non-Cisco/Tandberg endpoints, to today's mixed video connection environment. I am capable of connecting video endpoints/video rooms to users who have no video conference equipment at all -- Skype for Business, WebRTC, and video endpoints altogether in one conference. In January of 2017, I opened up the Firm's new Conference Center after the Firm underwent a major building renovation/reconstruction. This included 18 conference rooms: 4 full service Video Conference Rooms, 5 Video Conference Lite (Skype for Business) Rooms, 7 Presentation Rooms, and 2 audio conference only rooms. This is in addition to the other 26 conference rooms on the other 6 floors of the building that I also re-opened after renovation/reconstruction (this was a 2-year project). In total, there are 44 conference rooms throughout the DC office that I manage and supervise daily, including all in-room equipment, the infrastructure that supports the in-room equipment (Cisco Meeting Server, TMS, Fusion, Crestron, etc.) , and any portable A/V equipment as needed. Lastly, I am the Firm's EMS Administrator . EMS is software used to manage and maintain the Firm's conference rooms across all locations, both domestic and foreign. We have 10 buildings and 132 rooms, all of which have been configured, maintained and managed via the EMS system. All of the room reservations, food service requests, Helpdesk requests, A/V needs, and other services are scheduled for all 132 rooms via EMS.
