Experience and interests: Founded “Technology Innovation Studio (TINS)" as a new model for innovation, that combines the strengths of physical space, interest groups that fuel events and programming, high quality innovation consulting, ideation & product development, and also early stage investments. TINS brings together business leaders, scientists and researchers, serial entrepreneurs, angel/VC investors, industry experts, corporate innovation teams and also policy experts to explore and apply tools, methods and models in innovation.- As a Senior Advisor to the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), the world's largest connected innovation campus across US, Europe and Asia, I engaged diverse stakeholders in cities and regions globally in the area of building innovation infrastructure and ecosystems. I am also currently a Senior Advisor to the Venture Cafe Global Institute (VCGI) that oversees the "Thursday Gatherings", widely described as the heartbeat of many innovation cities around the world (>700,000 members).- Founded multiple start-ups (Boston, NYC, Singapore) in the areas spanning materials science, beauty/cosmetics, food&nutrition. Experience in early stage biotech where I co-founded and led start-ups in the areas of therapeutic drug development: solid tumors (small molecule), neuropathic pain (scFV), and ischemic-reperfusion injuries (biologic/large molecule) - conducting diligence, licensing IP, forming management teams, fundraising and designing the killer experiments. - Experience co-founding and operating two venture studios, one general, and one focused on biotech. TINS takes a system dynamics approach to innovation, and has elements of space, network, consulting, ideation and prototyping, company creation and investments. - Experience as a distributor for early stage life sciences companies (diagnostics, molecular imaging). Led technical sales and represented 15 companies over a 5 year period gaining valuable experience on how early stage companies transitioned to profitable businesses. Education: MD in clinical medicine, MSc in human genetics, and PhD in precision medicine (clinical pharmacology & breast cancer pharmacogenetics). MBA from MIT as a Sloan Fellow, with a focus on innovation and global leadership. Independent study at MIT on "Accelerating Technology Entrepreneurship in Singapore" using system dynamics methodology, which proved valuable in my later work on innovation ecosystems.
