This process aims to define the business value 3DS solutions bring to the customers and measure the value after successful deployment. So that solutions are aligned with the customer's business goals instead of just selling the licenses.It is vital to have a long-term strategy with the customers as adapting various 3DS solutions might take multiple years in different phases. Our department is responsible for executing the simulations immediately after Digital Mock-Up (DMU) confirmation (Project Milestone) by the R&D department. The activity involves:- Extracting the Mock-Up from the PDM system.- Applying the CAE standards.- Meshing the parts.- Preparing the load cases.- Running the simulation.- Analysis of the results.- Report issues to R&DThe highest delivery priorities are Time & Quality, as these factors impact the entire Project Time-Line. As the department head, I was responsible for monitoring and controlling Quality, Cost & Time. Being a +100 people department, we should have robust processes and methods to run the operations.With stringent Quality, Cost and Time KPIs, we must have the maximum level of First Time Right in our deliveries. For every quality issue reported by the customer, we followed the Six Sigma Framework to have a permanent solution. We built a services catalogue with a standardized process for each service. They identified me as a Project Manager and offered me an ex-pat position in France, considering my knowledge of both Nissan and Renault Engineering processes and tools, multicultural experience, and a successful track record of executing critical projects.We formed CF-Team with members from all companies and followed the agile method across organizations. We defined Common Data Models (CDM) with standard file formats for each data set. Each company is responsible for building a system to import and export CDM from their respective PDM systems. I led Renault system development activities by coordinating with Engineering and IT teams. I successfully offshored the entire PDM (TCe 8.3), CAD (NX) and MES (TCM) maintenance activities.I built the delivery framework that meets the KPI criteria, closely reporting to corporate teams Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually at different levels. This framework was the benchmark for all future offshore activities and was used across all the departments.
