Sumera Kidwai –Science Teacher and director of Kidwise - A traveling science laboratory carrying out practical science experiments through events for kids. Sumera has been teaching science for 4 years at St Pauls Catholic College, Sunbury. Most recently, she has been running science workshops for children since November 2021 in Hounslow House to cater for students from KS1 to KS3 with the aim to make science more fun and more practical, under the “Save the High Street” partnership. Qualifications:• Human Genetics degree, UCL 2003-2006• Masters degree 2006-2007 • Research scientist at Great Ormond street and Institute of Child health 2008 -2013• QTS Biology- 2019• Enhanced DBS Check• Public liability insurance

Social EntrepreneurKidwise Mar 2022 - PresentLondon Area, United KingdomKidwise CIC is a social enterprise working across London to inspire and support young people into Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths careers (known collectively as STEM).We are currently based in the London Borough of Hounslow and work closely with the council to be able to provide Holiday activity clubs over the school holidays and after school clubs within local schools. We work with the local community at school and community fairs and events to engage pupils in science and create spaces where pupils can come and experience the love of science. We want to help students from underrepresented communities to be able to be in the position to study STEM related subjects at university level and be in a position to take STEM related jobs and become those all important STEM leaders. -
