Ijoined Hortonworks to learn more about big data as well as to contribute to open source.• Became an Apache committer and PMC (Architect) for the Apache Knox project.• Added features to the Knox framework to provide secure access to Hadoop clusters.• Enhanced Authentication, Authorization and auditing features.• Integrating various REST APIs to Knox, specifically, Hive, HDFS, YARN, HBase, Oozie, Storm, Spark,Falcon, Ranger and Ambari.• Creating awareness in the community and evangelized the product.

Joined founding members of a financial technology startup whose charter is to provide structured riskinformation to financial institutions by leveraging a large number of orthogonal data sources.• Built a small team of developers and implemented an agile engineering process as well as a smalldevops teams to manage and scale the Amazon EC2 based infrastructure.• Worked on re-architecting the data platform that collected, cleaned and scored data attributes andenhancing REST services to provide real time predictions as well as process batch requests.• Worked on integrating data sources/vendors into the platform as well as integrating models built by thedata science team.

Brought on board to revitalize technology innovation at Voxware, a voice solutions company that focuseson improving productivity and safety in warehouse operations by replacing archaic paper-based methodswith voice recognition software and business workflows.Responsibilities ranged from being a hands-on architect and developer as well as providing product vision, product roadmap and interacting with partners, customers as well as prospects in sales cycles.• Conceived and brought a packaged cloud offering to the market within the span of a year to target small to mid-sized businesses. The cloud offering leveraged Amazon EC2 services.• Moved the product and platform towards vertical spaces, other than the warehouse.• Worked with hardware vendors to design new mobile devices for voice solutions.• Built a development team from the ground up and implemented an agile process to improve productquality and predictability of releases and moved the team towards an always ready to release(continuous delivery) product by leveraging modern infrastructure.• Architected and helped develop (contributed extensively to the code base) a new multimodal platformto leverage the partner community for building voice solutions. The product setprovided solutions around data governance, focusing on data privacy and data growth issues.• Created a new platform, architected from the ground up using SOA principles and MDA (model driven)to provide the foundation for vertical solutions.• Some technologies used - Java, J2EE, Spring, OSGi (Equinox), Webservices and Flex. Worked withJBoss, WASCE and WAS servers as well as Informix, DB2 and Oracle databases.• Also responsible for training and leading a team through the entire product life cycle as well as settingup and managing infrastructure, like the SCM system.
