My career research goals are focused on advancing the understanding of biochemical dysfunction in Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases and discovering potential drugs/molecules to treat those disorders. I am an enthusiastic post-doctoral researcher having strong background in neuropharmacology and neuroscience (more than 35 international publications and 20 international book chapters). As doctoral student, I was responsible for establishing a new neurochemical laboratory focused on quantification of neurotransmitter (catecholamines, GABA, glutamate) levels in toxin-based animal models of Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, which led to promising outcomes in studies with different candidate drugs. I have taken advantage of numerous opportunities to learn advanced molecular biology techniques at IBRO Schools and ISN-JNC Schools. In addition, I was awarded several (15) prestigious travel grants (IBRO, SfN, APSN, ISN, IBRO-APRC, WCN, WFN) to present my research work at international conferences (in USA, Austria, Australia, Japan, China, Nepal and Canada) and to collaborate with other researchers. In 2018, I was awarded an IBRO Short Stay Travel Grant to learn in vivo imaging techniques using primates at the NYU campus in Shanghai, China. In 2019 I was recruited to Dr Elsworth’s Laboratory at Yale University to be involved and contribute to NIH sponsored primate research project that is central to my research interests.Specialization: Neuropharmacology, Neuroscience, Animal dosing, Stereotaxic surgery, Animal Models of neurological disorders, Molecular Biology, HPLC, UPLC, IHC/IF.
