*I have been a banker at NDB Bank, one of the leading banks of Sri Lanka, for the past 28.5 years. I headed the Centralized Recoveries Department of NDB Bank for 4 1/2 years till 31st July 2018. Gave leadership to NDB Bank achieving 1.83% NPL ratio - industry 2nd bestPreviously I headed the Project Finance Department the Infrastructure Financing Department and also the Special Projects Division of NDB Bank.During my years in Project Finance gave leadership to financing Telecom, hydro, thermal & wind power projects, plantation & garments projects et al. As a young banker in the 1990s undertook over 100 feasibility study reports for a multitude of corporates in Sri Lanka both quoted and non quoted for all the sectors mentioned above and others. Since 2000 I gave leadership to major project financing deals in Telecom, hydro power, thermal power, wind power, garments, plantations etc. Took part and gave leadership in many syndicated financing deals.These leadership in long term financing efforts culminated in my heading the Infrastructure Financing Department and then the overall Project Financing Department during the period 2004 - 2010.From 2010 to 2014 I served in the Board of Directors of NDB Investment Bank, the premier investment bank in the country. Early on in my career I worked as an Electrical Engineer at the Ceylon Electricity Board. *I was the Vice President of the Methodist Church of Sri Lanka from Aug 2013 - Aug 2014 the highest position a layman can attain in the Methodist Church. I was the 50th to be thus inducted which happened to be during the Methodist Church Bicentenary. *I am also passionate about Christian writing and have co-authored 3 Christian books along with my wife, Roshini Peiris, namely - Last words like no other, Reason for the Season and the Ends of the Earth Movement
