Programmatic, financial and human resource management of the overseas and indigenous Projects Section, including the training, supervision and coordination of Projects team, and development of strategic plans. Design, implementation, monitoring, reporting (in-Australia and in-country) and evaluation of projects and interventions of UNICEF Country and Regional Programs supported by Australian funds ( AUD5 -16 million under management) Development and review of UNICEF Australia’s procedures, policies and systems and review of UNICEF’s procedures and systems, as they relate to the Projects.Provision of technical expertise to UNICEF New York and Geneva, UNICEF Country and Regional staff/advisors, UNICEF Australia’s Board and staff.Coordination of media, corporate and celebrity visits to UNICEF field activities. Preparation of resource mobilisation strategies for UNICEF country and regional offices particularly in relation to strategic engagement with Australian Government and international trusts and foundations. High level liaison with Australian Government; AusAID and Department of Foreign Affairs senior executive team and Government Ministers and parliamentary staff Management of UNICEF’s Parliamentary Association (membership includes members of federal cabinet and shadow cabinet).Management of resources from international trusts and foundations including the preparation and submission of proposals and reports. Management of corporate partnerships (Qantas, Starwood and Fairfax) and development of new and viable partnershipsManagement of UNICEF’s child rights advocacy program to schools, NGOs, media and the general public in the areas of development and emergency issues, HIV/AIDS, child protection, education, health, water, sanitation and hygiene issues, landmines and the environment.
