Specializing in domestic and international payments and have led critical initiatives involving SWIFT ISO 200022, CHAPS RTGS Renewal, Faster Payments-NPA, SEPA, Target2, PSD2, ICS, and CoP.Currently spearheading the implementation of SWIFT ISO 20022 standard release for November 2024/25. Orchestrating client and correspondent partner engagement, assessing readiness for ISO 20022 messages, and designing the implementation strategy for Clearstream in preparation for SSR 2024. Coordinating with in-house IT for streamlined delivery, planning and executing comprehensive testing, managing RMAs for in-scope MX messages, and ensuring cross-functional business readiness. Successfully delivered ISO 20022 training for colleagues in payment operations, investigations, reconciliation, financial crime, and treasury operations as part of the business go-live process.Previously at MUFG Bank, the key achievements of Sumit's engagement includes deploying a newly built payment hub (TPH) from Temenos with in-built ISO 20022 module, upgrading SWIFT messaging interface (Alliance Access and Alliance Messaging Hub) along with the AML & Sanction screening application to comply with new ISO 20022 MX messaging standard. Demonstrated exceptional agility by developing and implementing the SAMH translation module as an interim solution, facilitating smooth SWIFT CBPR+ and Target2 go-live in Mar-23.While embracing the opportunity to launch a new Bank in the UK, Sumit led several key projects in the BFC Bank (now iFast Global) to help achieve its strategic vision of becoming banking partner of choice for SMEs and PSPs. This include Setting-up Core Banking Platform, Internet Banking Services, Payments Middleware, FX Trading Channel, Faster Payments Membership, Target2 Membership, PSD2 Open Banking solution, CHAPS, Ripple xCurrent (PoC), SWIFT universal confirmation etc. Sumit hold a Masters's degree in Computer Science and is a proud alumnus of the UCL Blockchain Executive Education Programme, where he actively contributed to the University Blockchain Research Initiative in partnership with Ripple, driving innovation in blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital payments.
