Cattracks & Champchange Program Manager
ChampChange and CatTracks Manager serves the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success through operations and programmatic efforts. Overall, this position plays an integral role in providing means for the MSU staff to track and intervene with students who are not presenting behavior consistent with the desired academic or engagement habits that are often credited with leading to higher retention and graduation rates. The idea of being able to do this type of work at the higher education level—supporting student success—connects perfectly with the mission of the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success. I am very honored to be a part of the AYCSS team here at Montana State University. In addition to serving students in AYCSS, I am also a part of the Justin Smith Morrill Scholars Program, where I teach a section of US210-Education, The World of Work and You. The primary focus of this course is to develop an important knowledge set to both inform and embark upon the college experience providing content to assist them in "designing their life". The goal is to help them understand the importance of education, shifts in the global economy/demography, technology, and trade, and how some of those interconnected forces impact them, our communities, and their future. The knowledge set derived will be foundational to their design thinking process, particularly in career development. Ultimately, students will gain important self-knowledge and skills related to communication, problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, writing, self-reflection, and synthesizing of concepts.
