In 2023 an old colleague reached out about a great opportunity with Spur Design in Oklahoma City, OK to be an Interior Designer! Here I have been able to learn the ins and outs of healthcare design as well as a lot of government worth with local and national Veterans Affairs facilities.I landed my first design job with GSB Inc. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I was working as a REVIT Technician; this opportunity allowed me to work closely with architects to learn more in depth about construction and how the pieces actually fit together! Working with GSB was an exciting new adventure where I was able to expand my knowledge of design. Here I can work towards learning other aspects outside of my degree such as gaining a deeper understanding of construction documents and architecture. In 2018 I decided to make a life shift from technician to designer. This was one of the most stressful but best decisions of my life. In the Fall of 2021 I received my BFA in Interior Architecture and Design. I have always had a natural affinity for design, and realized that we are only given one shot at life, so I had to take it. I was able to finish with a strong portfolio and look forward to being able to build on it with real life projects to come.My Naval career ended in 2017. This experience built the foundations of who I am today. Those 6 years greatly assisted me in the gaining of many fine skill sets including, leadership, organization, time management, and adaptation. Early on in my Naval career my leadership placed me in many supervisory roles pushing me to learn the importance of flexibility and versatility. Our constant changing schedule and rule implementation has led me to learn how to schedule events and plan tasking with very little notice.
