- Reviewed work permit applications and screened proposed projects using the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves to protect critical natural and cultural heritage values and ensure compliance with relevant legislation (ex., Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, Endangered Species Act, Ontario Heritage Act, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans Act). - Proposed mitigation strategies to maintain ecological integrity and compliance with relevant legislation in order to successfully grant work permits.- Consulted and collaborated with First Nations communities on projects taking place within their traditional territory.- Wrote and approved research proposals and created reports once research had been completed in order to inform operations.- Maintained databases in Microsoft Access- Created and edited ArcGIS shape files and maps to inform operations and screen for natural and cultural heritage values- Facilitated 2 long-term monitoring projects. Followed established methodology, interpreted, and input data collected. Analyzed population trends to determine impacts of climate change on species living in the boreal forest.

- Created and presented interactive programs for people of all ages to foster connectivity with natural spaces. Maintained an average program attendance of 55 visitors across program types in 2018 & 2019, a 27% increase from 2017.- Liaised with 5 local elementary schools (Kindergarten – Grade 8) and coordinated full-day school visits to the park touching on topics like climate change, biodiversity, and ecophobia. Delivered 60 curriculum-based programs to 28 classes over the course of 25 days, reaching 1300 students in 2018 & 2019. - Supervised, scheduled, and mentored 6 students in the Summer Experience Program. Evaluated their programming and performance throughout the season, concluding in an end of the year performance appraisal.- Reported on operations and department budget through weekly meetings and prepared year end technical reports for the main Ontario Parks office.- Fostered a safe and productive workplace by complying with OHSA and ensured that all assigned tasks were completed in accordance with this policy.

- Supported students with ASD using the following strategies: applied behaviour analysis, behaviour modification, prompt fading and reinforcement, and structured teaching- Worked collaboratively with classroom teachers to support the inclusion of students with special needs through the modification of curriculum as per student’s IEP learning goals

- Delivered over 300 engaging and relevant science programs, tailored to meet the Ontario Science and Technology Curriculum for students in Grade 1-8, in elementary schools, First Nations communities, and at public events. Consistently received five-star reviews for presentation skills. - Worked remotely in a team of 2-3 under minimal supervision in one to two-week travel blocks throughout Northern Ontario- Maintained program statistics and managed visitor surveys (over 600 completed) ensuring that all data collected was correctly entered into Excel to inform funding reports and grant proposals.

- Developed and implemented a training program that provided opportunities for student staff to create and present their own programming which allowed them to take on a larger role in the department- Supervised 14 students in the Summer Experience Program along with assisting them in their species identification, communication, and customer service skills.- Promoted and raised awareness for Species at Risk in Ontario, biodiversity, and climate change through engaging programming. Maintained an attendance of 30-40 people for children’s programs and 90-100 people for evening programs.
