We have all heard the sayings, "health is wealth," and, "use it or lose it." I believe these are accurate as without our health, we don't have much! My true passion is to help others attain the best quality of life they possibly can. Another saying I live by is “when you feel good, you do good.” I wish to improve the determinants of health for the community and provide them with the education and resources they need. I hold a compelling desire to advocate for underrepresented and underserved population groups in my professional career.Throughout my coursework in Public Health, I've structured and planned several health programs, including a cessation of vaping one. I have completed a research paper on the relation between education level and depression prevalence among adults age 18 or older. Data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) was utilized in SPSS to develop cross tabulations and compare data. I have especially enjoyed learning about the social determinants of health and hope to improve them for many people throughout my career. I have completed several advocacy projects in my coursework and at the Pediatric Movement Center, where I advocated for children with developmental, physical, intellectual, and behavioral disabilities. My coworkers, friends, and family would describe me as a kind, intelligent, hardworking individual who truly knows and appreciates the importance of health and wellness in everyday life.
