Summer Miller (Widhalm) is an author and award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in Eating Well, Saveur, Every Day with Rachel Ray, Edible Omaha, Edible Feast, and Grit among others. In her former life she was a humanitarian aid worker in South Africa, served as the editor-in-chief of The Reader, executive editor of Neighborhood News, and spent time as public relations manager for a leading telecommunications company where she and her team won industry awards for social media campaigns. Her first book, New Prairie Kitchen: Stories and Seasonal Recipes from Chefs, Farmers and Artisans of the Great Plains, was released by Agate Publishing in May 2015.
