Senior Grants Manager

Enhance equitable and community-responsive grantmaking efforts by mastering our Grants Management database (Foundant GLM) and staying abreast of best practices through involvement with PEAK Grantmaking. Revolutionize community engagement in philanthropy by implementing a public input online platform to collect data and develop relationships with community. Create and administer all grantmaking processes--from application to reporting—within principles of streamlining and trust-based philanthropy Establish systems for enhanced learning internally and externally Acted as Project Manager and led technical implementation of community engagement software (PublicInput.com); launched within six months of adoption. Manage relationships with vendors for IT and Communications services and provide technical assistance for social media marketing efforts and website updatesUpon promotion to Senior Grants Manager, I took on more responsibilities in Community Engagement and Communications and the technology pieces surrounding that in addition to my grants management duties. Under the guidance of the CEO, I researched community engagement platforms to adopt. We chose PublicInput.com as our provider and I led the development and implementation of the site so that we could be the first foundation to have a community listening platform. This gives residents the power to tell us how they want us to spend our money in their community, and has a robust backend analysis tool to help us inform our grantmaking choices. The result is Lift Every Voice 216! www.lev216.org

Grants Manager

I manage the grant database (Foundant GLM), online applications and grantee reporting process. In my first year, I redesigned our application and all related forms to obtain better and more useful information. I was one of the first to be Foundant GLM certified and continuously stay up-to-date with current releases and features.Since Knowledge Management is my passion and is intimately tied to Grants Management, I lead efforts for internal and external knowledge sharing. Internally, I have created the structure and process for a lessons-learned database within Foundant GLM as well as a detailed instruction manual for my position. Externally, inspired by IssueLab, I led the creation of a public-facing resource collection on our website and maintain the site in a proprietary CRM called Lucy.As part of the program team, I read proposals, provide feedback in staff peer review meetings, and attend site visits, as well as create documents for the board book each quarter. I attend professional development workshops for program staff on subjects such as: diversity, equity, and inclusion; deciphering nonprofit financials; measurement and evaluation; and grants management and philanthropy best practices.

Grant Writer

Cleveland, Oh, Us

In the first two weeks of my employment, I coordinated a small team of people and completed several very large and complex proposals and addenda in response to two Request for Proposals (RFPs) from a very large school district and sent them in a month ahead of the deadline. In addition to seeking out and responding to many other RFPs, I wrote up procedures and best practices on how to respond to them. I also wrote a report on the federal grant environment for educational institutions as well as created an internal database of foundation grant opportunities relevant to our business purpose. I left this position only because, due to budgetary issues, my position was cut in a large round of lay-offs across the company.
