CDR Archive is a Sprint PCS call record archive system which is developed in C++, C, Unix Scripts and DB2 in IBM AIX environment. Call detail records include voice, data usage, SMS data, Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) data, Roaming data, and Business Mobility Platform (BMP) data. • Developed the architecture and design documents in UML using tools such as Rational Rose and Visio.• Implemented data reports for the usage of Voice and data to the user groups such as marketing, corporate security, and network. These reports were used to forecast and analyze the current usage of the sprint PCS network.• Enhanced the existing framework to object-oriented methodology to remove redundancy and increase the reusability of the framework components.

ANTS application is developed in C++, Java, HP UNIX, and Oracle (OCI) environment through multiple releases. ANTS is an automated translation system which provisions the call routing and mobile codes to telephony switches. The main focus of my role was to improve the performance and scalability of ANTS. • Improved the ANTS framework to accommodate performance and scalability requirements by optimizing the source code and adding new features such as retry, backout, etc. to make the system more robust. In addition, used CORBA interfaces to exchange notifications between servers. • Designed and implemented tools in PL/SQL which measured the performance of ANTS system. The reports were sent automatically to the recipients on daily basis. Optimized the database queries by analyzing the explain plan of each query.• Enhanced the existing ANTS state-based workflow servers to accommodate the requirements for each release. Workflow servers provided multiple activities based on states in multi-threaded environment. The workflow supported full automation by notifying servers for new state.• Worked on design/development of ANTS user interface in JAVA using J2EE components (JSP, Java Beans) and Java Scripts. Used CORBA interface to communicate with Server side for network translation.

Connection Manager (CM) was a network management system which provided a software solution to automate Sprint’s network provisioning processes mainly for Integrated On-Demand Network (ION) using Java/J2EE technology. CM was responsible for creating Permanent Virtual Connections across the Sprint Network for ION and Non-ION Customers. Connections included ATM VPCs/VCCs, and Interworking Connections including Frame Relay to ATM conversion, Frame Relay over ATM, Circuit Emulation over ATM and IP over ATM. CM backend was using Oracle technology to enhance performance and scalability. Areas worked on:• Designed and implemented stateless session beans in JAVA EJB framework, business functions for domain objects using WebLogic Application Server. Used storage home (similar to entity beans) for database access in SQLEXEC persistence framework. Worked on designing and implementing CORBA external interface layers for Connection Provisioner and Information Broker.• Workflow Server module was responsible for providing flow-through process automation of end-to-end Service Provisioning subsystem. Designed workflow models in UML and XML format to represent the life cycle of network equipments such as network element, port, card, etc., and connections such as PVC, SPVC, Access Connection (Ethernet DropSide), etc. Utilized Oracle XML Parser to parse XML into Oracle database. Worked with Technical Architecture group to test Workflow Framework and Performance. • Lead development testing of ION Residential & High-Speed Data Automation scenarios to test flow-through process as well as interprocess coordination. • Built a prototype for Dynamic Attribute Framework using XML, DOM and Oracle XML SQL Utility to convert attributes from Oracle Database into XML and vice versa. The dynamic attribute framework provides a way to dynamically determine a set of attributes that are associated with a particular domain object based on constraints.

Connection Performer (CP) was a provisioning system responsible for configuring network elements in Sprint’s ION network using SNMP, TCP/IP, telnet, and vendors’ proprietary protocols. Connection Performer was implemented in C++ on a Unix (Sun Solaris) platform and interacted with Connection Manager (CM) via CORBA interface. Areas worked on:• Worked on defining CORBA interface between CM and CP.• Worked on analysis and implementation of Sprint’s ION requirements to provision ION network elements in C++ with UML and Roguewave toolkit. These element vendors included NEC, CISCO 8850, and Lucent Stinger DSLAM. Worked on configuration parameters for Cisco8850 port configuration, IMA configuration and Lucent Stringer DSLAM port configuration and PNNI setup.• Worked on implementation of protocol specific adaptation layer for SNMP and REXEC adapters which are used to send requests to the switches from CP.

Total Fuel Management (TFM) was the management system which provided the automatic fuel purchase, delivery and inventory management. TFM was using Oracle to provide object persistence and Roguewave's zApp to provide GUI for a client server application. TFM was written in C++ object oriented for 32-bit Windows clients/server. It included interfaces to Lotus Notes for workflow and used COM technology and Crystal Report Professional for generating reports. Areas worked on:• Designed and documented data model and design activities in coordination with requirements specialists. This included creating ER diagrams, database scripts and designing object oriented class hierarchies using UML/BOOCH diagrams. Developed sub-applications in C++ according to the detailed design.
