The Governor’s Advisory Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs (GACAPAA) is the Commonwealth’s advocate agency for the diverse Asian Pacific American communities in Pennsylvania. GACAPAA’s mission is to ensure that the Asian Pacific American community continues to prosper in Pennsylvania. The GACAPAA makes recommendations to the Governor on policies, procedures and legislation that would affect the Asian Pacific American communities and serves as the Governor’s liaison to Asian Pacific Americans in order to ensure that state government is accessible and accountable.

- Advise the Pennsylvania Governor on policies, procedures, legislation and regulations that affect the AAPI communities;- Develop, review and recommend to the Governor policies in the areas of health and human services, housing, education, employment, business formation and other relevant areas, which affect the AAPI communities;- Provide appropriate assistance and advice to state agencies, including the Pennsylvania Minority Business Development Authority, and work with the Bureau of Workforce Planning, Development, and Equal Employment Opportunity, within the Office of Human Resources and Management, in the Governor’s Office of Administration, to strengthen the enforcement of the commonwealth’s anti-discriminatory hiring, retention and promotion policies;- Serve as a liaison to federal, state and local agencies to ensure that programs affecting AAPIs are effectively utilized and promoted;- Serve as a resource for community groups and provide forums for developing strategies and programs that will expand and enhance the civic, social, educational, cultural and economic status of the AAPI communities;- Identify programs, scholarships, mentoring programs, sources of funding or other resources for the benefit and advancement of AAPIs; and- Promote the cultural arts of the AAPI communities throughout the commonwealth.

Administrate international and domestic grants and Corporate Giving requests from China, South Korea, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) and the United States.

(This was the first ever City Council hearing exclusively focused on addressing the needs of the Asian Community in Philadelphia)• Organized the Crime Victims Testimony Panel, interviewed and convinced victims and their families to come to the hearing, drafted and translated testimonies, and facilitated their participation• Co-facilitated a diverse panel of community advocates• Ensured Chinese community participation • Liaised with international and local Asian media

• In charge of strategic planning and analysis for the Chinese market• Responsible for business-to-business sales, merchandise strategy, promotion planning, public relations, copywriting, customer service management, developing and implementing instruction programs for staff, and human resource development planning
