Some Reflective Ideas..First of all, novice teachers should be aware of the fact that teaching will be different from what they experienced as students in the past because teaching is an active, changing and creative concept. Strategies, activities and methods always change depending on different contexts of teaching and time. That's why, it is a good idea to keep up with new trends in teaching and education. Also, we have to admit that lifelong learning is the key to become an efficient teacher according to Hammerness. I couldn't agree more. Students, classes, needs and strategies change as life goes on. We should become a part of lifelong learning so that we can keep up with those changes. Secondly, teaching is all about putting our thinking into action because it is an area of practice and action. No matter how good ideas we have in our minds, they are not helpful if we cannot implement them in the classroom. Especially novice teachers should not avoid trying new strategies because this is how teachers create their ways of teaching. This is also closely related to innovation dimension of lifelong learning. Effective teachers need to try to break the conventions for the sake of their students. Routinized learning might be good for students in some ways. They don't have to deal with what to do as they learn new things. However, if we consider students' abilities as stable, we cannot help them go further. That's why, it is helpful to try some innovative appoaches.
