I am currently President and CEO of Shyam Telelink, a company that my team and I have has nurtured from being a license to becoming cash positive in a record four years. Implementation of the Network, Roll Out, Expansion define one end of the continuum wherein soliciting equity, debt and funding display the other. Under the brand name of “Rainbow” the company has redefined the traditional VIBGYOR, to assert that it wishes to offer more than is expected or desired on the telecom landscape. In an emerging era of convergence, I have been able to train a team, which helps me build a brand, develop products, run the Network, nurture manpower and administer the whole project.

Telecom started to grow out of the Metros and the challenge lay in the Hinterland of these mega cities. One to court challenges I took my next assignment with the Shyam Group to roll out Mobile Telephony in Rajasthan. Oasis (Hexacom India Ltd.) was conceived by us and under a dedicated team grew to become one of the five most popular brands of Rajasthan. We, though relatively small on the corporate level, propelled oasis, to a height from where it squashed a giant like Essar Cell phone in Rajasthan. We built a brand - credible, cherished and colossal, with the essentials of business well in place. Oasis enjoyed the highest ARPU in the country, the strongest distribution, well-trained employees and immense good will. Airtel decided to create its footprint in Rajasthan, and they decided to take over Oasis Vis a Vis an option of attempting to fight it.

After anchoring Oasis I was desirous for more challenges. The Shyam Group in the mean time started another PIONEERING project towards the launch of the Groups Satellite Telephony Project (Shyam Aces), the very first in the country. Though, unfortunately the Project could not be launched due some strong Regulatory and Licensing issues prevailing at that time.

Having triumphed over my own personal and professional targets, having outgrown my profile at Morrison and foreseeing Telecom as a sunrise industry, I decided to move on. A long and eventful stint with the FMCG industry equipped me with the wherewithal to successfully launch India's first cellular Network of the country - Airtel in Delhi. Mobile telephony in 1995 was an enigma and experts were few, but we took it upon our self to make Airtel a well-understood, accepted and cherished brand of the country. Campaigns were devised to educate people; corporate bombing to reach out to them, surveys to understand their needs, a well-deliberated distribution system and an aggressive sales team to capture the largest market share.Being the Head of Sales, my team was remarkably triumphant as the BEST Sales and Distribution unit in the INDUSTRY and the rest as they say is HISTORY. Airtel became the market leader and laid the cornerstone of making it the country's largest MOBILE service provider.

I started my career with J.L. Morrison where through my grit and determination rapidly grew from a Management Trainee to Head the Health Care business for the Company (was hand picked to launch the Nivea Men's Range). I was successful in spearheading my team to carve out a cosmic distribution structure, which was distinctive for its well-motivated partners even complemented by an effective inventory management for the company. Being the custodian of the Company's Product Portfolio of all the 3 segments a) Nivea range b) Health care products and c) Medical Products, grew the Company at a growth higher than the Industry and Contributed a very Large % of the company Results.
