Dr. Suneeta Singh is an experienced development professional whose work centers on accelerating improvements in the lives of people through an emphasis on equity, enfranchisement and enablement. She has worked at the grassroots; in bilateral and multilateral funding organizations; and the consulting firm and the not-for-profit that she has founded. She has led multidisciplinary, international teams on policy advice, evaluation and research in countries in South-East Asia and China, Africa, Eastern Europe, North America and South America. Founded on the premise that the context is pivotal to outcomes, Dr. Singh’s strategy approaches and recommendations compel a fresh interpretation of obstinate problems. Dr. Suneeta Singh has founded Amaltas Consulting Private Limited a research and consulting organization, and the Amrit Foundation of India, a not for profit devoted to addressing issues of marginalization. Trained as a medical doctor, she has postgraduate qualifications in public health and pediatrics. Dr. Singh is intimately familiar with strategy development, monitoring, evaluation and learning and philanthropy. Dr Singh was a Senior Public Health Specialist at the World Bank where she has led and supported program development and management of the TB, HIV and AIDS, Reproductive and Child Health, and Leprosy projects. She has also worked on Health Systems projects in India, Slovakia and Cambodia to build state capacity to implement high quality health systems. She was part of the Quality Hub which reviewed the implementation of public health projects supported by the World Bank world-wide and recommended improvements to the portfolios of countries. Prior to the World Bank, Dr. Singh worked at DFID implementing the early trials of the revised TB program. She helped develop the TB program for Andhra Pradesh using the new strategy. She worked at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to develop the communication strategy for the Blindness Control Program and supported the Eye Banking program. While teaching at the St. Johns Medical and Nursing Schools, besides teaching, she also trained program managers and provided expert advice on immunization to the Bangalore city committee. Her experience across the various organizations she has worked at, the organizations whose work she has supported and reviewed, the organizations she has founded, and teams she has been a part of or led, provides invaluable lessons for other programs of work.
