• Conducted neutron scattering research on the fundamental properties of new materials and published results in peer-reviewed journals.• Responsible for all facets of the successful operation of two neutron spectrometers: SPINS (2007 – 2010) and BT7 (2010 – 2011). These included coordinating with visiting collaborators, providing technical reviews of user proposals, facilitating approved user experiments andrecruiting new users. In addition, carried out instrument maintenance, developed and installed upgrades and ensured smooth day-to-day operation of the instruments.• Designed materials for and led experimental portions of 2009 and 2011 NIST Center for Neutron Research Summer Schools on the Fundamentals of Neutron Scattering: an outreach effort to introduce graduate students and young scientists to neutron scattering techniques and their applications to a variety of scientific and engineering disciplines.

• Conducted neutron and X-ray scattering research on complex oxide systems with the primary goal of understanding the relationship between microscopic structures/dynamics and macroscopic properties.• Successfully set up and maintained new laboratory for research group: wrote standard operating procedures for laboratory processes, purchased equipment, ensured all activities complied with facility-wide safety policies, and developed and managed chemical inventory.• Provided practical supervision to graduate students in research group by teaching laboratory procedures and experimental techniques, giving guidance on data analysis and editing proposals, presentations and manuscripts.
