Sung Lee, a Franco-Korean designer and artist, merges cutting-edge techniques with nature and nudes, two timeless subjects in art. Drawn to the realms of the imaginary and fantastical, she creates scenes where women and nature blend in mythic and humorous ways.With her unique style and feminine perspective, Sung has collaborated with various brands and hotels, creating everything from illustrations to interior decorations, textiles, and ceramics. Her recent digital artwork builds on a foundation in watercolor, a medium she has practiced since childhood, making her work versatile and widely applicable.Her influences span manga, classical painting, and traditional Korean Minhwa art, reflecting her multicultural identity. At thirteen, Sung left Korea and its conventional expectations for life in the United States. Though her parents encouraged a path in economics, she pursued Studio Art, a major that allowed her to freely express herself. After completing her studies, she moved to Paris, where she immersed herself in the worlds of high fashion and art.In Paris, Sung worked for years as a fashion journalist for Harper’s Bazaar, covering fashion shows and interviewing leading designers. Eventually, she transitioned into producing exhibitions featuring her artwork, which has been showcased in several group shows as well.
