As Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) Sung is responsible for overseeing and leading the product development and product management efforts of iBASEt - leading the effort of bringing products from conception to production including all aspects of research, design, prototyping and software development and delivery. Sung’s role continues to also include leading the effort to assurance the company's technology strategy serves its business strategy. As CPTO, Sung oversees all activities in Technology Research, Product Technical Development/Engineering, Product Quality Assurance, and company IT infrastructure and Cybersecurity.

• Led product expansion to SaaS and managed services platform resulting in 3 new enterprise customer adoptions in the 1st quarter of the launch.• Transformed Solumina product architecture and technology to cloud native architecture with AWS and Azure clouds using microservice architecture with Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters.• Created the 2-year product roadmap for the entire product line 3 months after taking over the product management team. • Reduced cloud spending by 25% by shifting cloud resource allocations under Amazon MAP (Migration Acceleration Program).• Fast tracked iBASEt SaaS offering to 18 months from typical 2-3 years - AWS QuickStart Program, SaaS Factory Program, AWS Managed Services, AWS Migration Acceleration Program. • Reduced the product release time from 18 months to 6 months by restructuring the engineering team into lean agile teams.• Provided leadership to department heads in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values in transitioning to a SaaS company

• Built new architecture team of 6 architects to create and productize: - Solumina offline for MES for remotely disconnected operations using PDF technology that enabled remote offsite synchronization with the online system. - React.js and Angular.js based new user interface for Solumina MES. • Led a team of integration architects to create PLM connectors for Siemens Teamcenter and PTC Windchill to Solumina MES. These connectors enable digital thread from the design phase to the manufacturing phase of complex/discrete products.• Decreased security related bugs by 50% through creation of new secure coding practice for the entire R&D team for product development.• Reduced cyber security related testing time from weeks to days by conducting regular security scanning of the product to remediate common vulnerabilities.

• Implemented an integration solution for LTA (Labor Time Attendance) system using standard web services approach for synchronous and real time integration of user activities at the shop floor to the LTA system.• Key contributor to iBASEt - Deltek (Solumina MES - CostPoint ERP) integration.

• Maintained framework codebase for the entire product line which has over a million lines of code.• Reduced software defects by 40% by incorporating a code coverage practice to identify potential defects during development time.

• Decreased build time from 2 days to 2 hours by automating the application and database build processes.

My general research interests included the development of software decomposition and composition methodologies to construct highly dependable software system, high-confidence validation and verification techniques for such systems, and the automation of the development cycle that utilizes such methodologies. A long term goal of my research was to provide proven high-assurance software development technologies to software developers on proven automation platforms.

Performed analysis, design, implementation, and testing of Wireless call processingsoftware for ANSI-41 networks on DMS/MTX platform including:• Wireless Priority Services: Development of WPS for CDMA based systems to allow qualified and authorized National Security and Emergency Preparedness (NS/EP) users to obtain priority access to radio traffic channels during situations when Commercial Mobile Radio Service (CMRS) network congestion is blocking call attempts.• Location Based Services: CDMA voice/data switch development to support location-based services to conform to the standard IS-881.• E-Mobility HLR project: Development of a distributed and platform-independent HLR using JAVA on the Linux platform• CDMA Circuit Switched Data Billing Enhancements• GSM CALEA project: Implementation and deployment of call intercept feature in GSM architecture in accordance with Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act• Flexible Nature of Address in ISUP project: Enabling the Nature of Address for the ISUP called party number to be determined by Universal Translations
