Main Duties: Using level set methods to track the object contour. In an iterative process to make the level set function remains a valid distance function, periodical re-initialization of the level set function is required through Fast Marching algorithm. Re-initialization is still time-consuming and I develop a straightforward parallel algorithm on GPU for accelerating the speed. Achievements: Experimental results show that compared with the CPU serial algorithm,GPU-based parallel algorithm is quite efficient. Awarded Excellence prize.
