Metal additive manufacturing is disrupting manufacturing in a way that fantasy designs of the past are becoming real. At the same time, metallurgical and mechanical properties of the components need to push the decades long envelope. Materials, alloys and the way they are processed are extremely important for the true disruption of manufacturing and adaption of Metal AM. Sharing this vision, I have executed various alloy and process development projects for example, adoption of low cost WA powders for AM, invention of a novel composition for duplex stainless steel to overcome current limitations, aluminum alloys specifically designed for LPBF, novel technique for spherical powders using solid state alloying and spheroidizing and scaled manufacturing of High Entropy Alloys (HEA’s); mostly stuck in research laboratories. Until now!Six Sigma Green Belt Executive with diverse experience in Metallurgy and Materials Science. Additive Manufacturing, Alloy Development, Powder Metallurgy, Investment Casting. High Entropy Alloys (HEA) Aluminum alloys, Titanium Alloys, Stainless Steels, Ni and Co base Superalloys, Copper base alloys, Permanent magnetic ferrous alloys.
