Implementing Smart Grid Pilot project in Chamundeswari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), Mysuru and EPC contracts for establishing 66/11 kV sub stations inDavanagere district, Karnataka. Smart Grid Pilot project went live in June 2018. EPC contracts have been concluded with commissioning of the 66/11 kV sub stations.Involvement in Smart Grid project was an unique experience. A consumer base of 22000, comprising domestic, commercial, industrial, irrigation and HT consumers. About 500 Nos of Distribution transformers, 14 feeders and 5 sub stations.Major modules of the Solution are Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Outage Management System (OMS), Peak Load Management (PLM), Analytics & visualisation and Portals. Communication comprised of RF 865 MHz free band and GPRS. Accrued benefits to the utility are Automated billing, Connection and Disconnection on demand. Load curtailment, peak load control, Reduced Power Supply restoration time and improved revenues.This project received the prestigious KARNATAKA POWER AWARD under INNOVATIVE PROJECTS category.

400 Kv Receiving Station, Hoody, Bengaluru

- Entrusted with maintenance and operations of 400 KV Receiving Station Hoody supplying power to Bangalore city. Supported by a dedicated team of 27 maintenance personnel and 15 field work staff. Reporting to Executive Engineer.- Ensured Monthly, Quarterly and Annual maintenance schedules are carried out for 24x7 healthy operation of the substation in sync with the organization policies and procedures.- Handled maintenance schedules for equipments like Power transformers, Circuit breakers, Current transformers and Diesel generators; maintaining Plant Availability Factor at >=98%.- Managing protection relay schemes, PLCC and SCADA systems of the Receiving Station; maintaining and monitoring log of daily activity in face of contingencies like breakdowns and outages.- Supervised Replacement of 167 MVA transformer, its Erection, Testing and Commissioning activity.- Supervised formation of 500 MVA ICT-II bay for augmenting sub-station capacity at an approximate cost of INR 10 Cr.- Conceptualized erection, testing and commissioning of CTR based nitrogen injection fire protection system for 167 MVA transformers at an approximate cost of INR 30 lakh.
