Strategy & Communications specialist in the CSR sectors, with hands-on experience of over 25 years. 1986- 1991- Marketing (Burroughs Wellcome) - Mainstream advertising (Trikaya Grey and Contract Advertising)1991-2000 in the Developmental / Social/ Healthcare sectors focusing on specialized strategy formulation, communication and implementation programs and projects, and the setting up of JWT’s “Thompson Social” Unit.This involved extensive & intensive experience of working on Information, Communication & Education (ICE) management for various international agencies UNICEF, World Bank, UNDP and John Hopkins in India, Bangladesh and Nepal, besides Government Ministries and Organizations, both at the central and state levels, and NGOs such as Oxfam and Deepalaya.The Programs and Projects I worked on were as diverse as Rights of the Girl Child, SWAJAL, HIV-AIDS, SIPHSA, Management of Diarrhea, Safe Water and Sanitation, and Child Survival and Safe Motherhood (CSSM).2000-till date handling consultancy projects focusing on the CSR sectors, Brand Management and Communication Training.I have worked on projects with organizations such as Reuter’s Media Light, Scholastic, Plan India and The Smile Train.All my work experience has involved dealing with multiple partners and agencies: Research, PR, Media, Production, Creative, Implementation and Review. Having worked extensively in the Development sectors, my ability to understand the unique needs of unconventional target audiences who are normally the beneficiaries as well as participants of Development programs has matured and developed my approach to, and perspective of, these programs.
