Sunit Mohindroo is co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Citylitics. Leveraging his experience driving technology innovation, he oversees the company’s product vision and development, data strategy and operations, and its people and culture teams. Prior to Citylitics, Sunit was Co-Founder and CMO of the emerging smart grid software company Simpleafy and held Engineering positions at Microsoft and Apple, where he was responsible for teams that leveraged hardware software co-design to create product-led growth.As an Engineer for Apple, Sunit contributed to the first iPad and Apple TV prototypes; later, as Engineering Program Manager, he helped launch a version of the much revered third-generation iPod Nano. As a Microsoft Program Manager for hardware development, his teams designed cutting-edge battery technologies for music, surface tablet, and gaming devices. Sunit draws on his passions for product design and evolution, seamless software, data-as-a-service (DaaS), and the democratization of AI to reach his professional goals of improving social, economic, and environmental outcomes. A veteran of the startup scene, he ran the Lean Startup Conference Simulcast at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto and began his career at the Waterloo-based content compression startup Slipstream Data, later acquired by BlackBerry (then RIM). Sunit holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
