Datacenter Security Specialist
CurrentWorking within the Datacenter team for the world’s leading private education company with over 500 sites and 3 Datacenter locations globally, we are responsible for creating and maintaining the network standards globally as well as acting as an escalation point for support cases. This involved defining requirements, product testing, evaluations, working closely with vendors, documentation of solutions and their handover to our support team. Some of the key projects delivered were:• Redesign of Boston Datacenter from Cisco 4500 switches to Top Of the Rack design with Nexus 56128 and Nexus 2k switching, including the planning of the cabling structure and switch placement,• Redesign of Shanghai Datacenter to allow for greater resilience and scalability which included design and deployment of Nexus 5K and Nexus 2K switching, Fortigate firewalls and optimizing routed topology.• Recommend AWS network designs for internal business units including VPC setup, Security Groups. NAT instances and creation of cloud based IPSEC VPN solution based on open source products such as Openswan and Quagga. Creation of build and HA scripts to allow for resilient VPN solutions.• Evaluation of NGFW products and migration from Cisco ASA to Fortigate Firewalls in all sites, including experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer,
