Implemented blockage effect models into FLORIS—a steady state wake modelling tool developed at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory used to model wind flow through a wind farm and optimize the positioning and orientation of wind turbines. Investigated the impacts of the modeled blockage effects on the optimization and accuracy of FLORIS as compared to other engineering models.

Developed python code for ReLog, an optimization package for Reverse Logistics, that defines a network of plants based on given plant parameters and the initial distribution of a product/material. Assessed the energy use, costs and emissions associated with an optimized NiMH battery recycling case study to recover rare earth elements as an alternative to conventional production through mining.
