Sarah Cooper Email and Phone Number
Passionate about sustainability - having grown up in the South Burnett with a love for the land and rural Australia! I have a passion for community, great food, the science behind nutrition, human and animal health… I believe that our outputs are only as good as our inputs and how we build up ourselves, and those around us! My passion for sustainability is naturally born out of the love for these things, and a desire to leave the planet in better shape for the generations to come. With a wide variety of interests, and experience as vastly different as a musician/teacher and in business management within the civil engineering industry… I'm here to learn more from others, connect with people with common interests, and gain deeper insights into issues that we face as a collective on a micro and macro scale.

Studio DirectorVivacious Voice Studio Sep 2012 - Nov 2017Toowoomba, Queensland, AustraliaI taught a wide range of students in a variety of styles. From individual lessons with 6 years through to 65 year olds for male and females or classes for Year 1-3 students or holiday programs designed for high school students - for performance goals or for enjoyment - there was NEVER a dull moment!Students that I taught went on to study music at various tertiary institutions or continue their love of music as an outlet from the strains and stresses of life. My studio grew from humble beginnings to always being fully booked, and unable to offer enough hours for interested students.

Voice TeacherThe Glennie School 2012 - Nov 2017Toowoomba, Queensland, AustraliaI taught students from Year 2 through to Year 12 and helped them to improve their vocal technique, musicianship and performance skills - while having fun singing songs that they (mostly!) liked. (There are always things that we must do - and don't enjoy - because they are good for us - like exercises!) From the classical styles of musical theatre through to contemporary pop, rock and jazz, utilising my functional piano accompaniment or helping the students learn to accompany themselves better - be it piano or guitar- or with the use of backing tracks - the width and breadth of students and their interests always makes for an interesting lesson for both of us.I am a big fan of encouraging a student to aim for achievable and functional goals - and the AMEB Musical Theatre Syllabus was great to help students gain a grounding in great music while also learning stage performance skills and appropriate techniques.I also love preparing students who are interested in singing for performance goals such as a busking if they are interested in pursuing contemporary voice at a higher level, or gaining experience in musicals by participating in musical society productions should they be more interested in Musical Theatre training.I have also taught many who just simply love music and want to do lessons just for the joy of it - and I'm more than happy to help with that - what fun we have! -
