Sunny represents companies and non-profit organizations of all sizes across multiple industries. She helps businesses solve problems, negotiate transactions, resolve disputes, and operate in compliance with laws. Sunny has extensive experience in bankruptcy law (debtor and creditor side), senior housing (long term care), employment law, commercial litigation, and class actions. She helps companies with internal investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practice Act compliance, and establishing best practices and policies for operations. Sunny represents clients in mobility, manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, and other industries. Sunny is a partner at Snell & Wilmer LLP in Washington, DC. Previously, she was Associate General Counsel and Vice President at Sunrise Senior Living for 5 years. At Sunrise, Sunny supported all aspects of the senior housing business including real estate development, labor and employment, complex litigation, operations, and management agreements with capital partners. She also led the COVID-19 Task Force for Sunrise during 2020. Sunny began her law career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in Washington and Dallas working on complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters. She served as debtor counsel to Lehman Brothers, Washington Mutual Bank, General Motors, BearingPoint, and routinely represented clients in adversary and other contested proceedings. She also led an investigation into FCPA/bribery allegations for a multinational pharmacological company in France, Africa, the Middle East, and China, and helped resolve claims by the DOJ and SEC.Sunny graduated with her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University in 2004. She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, at Southern Methodist University in 2008, and was admitted into the Order of the Coif and served as managing editor of the SMU Law Review.
