I am Sunil Gehani, popularly known as Sunny Gehani. I am a seasoned entrepreneur, philanthropist, and a well-known figure in the business community. I was born and raised in Mumbai, but later moved to Saint Martin in 1998, in search of work.With little savings of his own, I started a business of tobacco vending machines. It was a difficult time, with ups and downs, but I persevered. I opened a duty-free tobacco store in late 2002 and a duty-free liquor store in 2003, and since then, I have not looked back. Today, I am the distributor of duty-free liquor, tobbaco products, wines & spirits in St. Kitts & Nevis. I currently owns about 10 such retail locations including one at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, in the capital city of Basseterre, St Kitts Cruise Terminal, and in hotels like Marriott and Hyatt. I am also engaged in liquor production locally and owns a few liquor brands.Apart from his successful liquor business, I am also involved in several other businesses. I own "The Big Cane Company", a sugar cane plantation and factory that produces high-quality sugar cane products, including rum, syrup, and more. I am also the owner of St. Kitts Cigar Company, a cigar manufacturing company that produces hand-rolled cigars using traditional methods.Few years back I also founded "Global Link International", an immigration consultancy service company that helps people who want to invest and obtain citizenship of St. Kitts & Nevis via government-recognized investment programs. Apart from his successful business ventures, I am also actively involved in community service. I have supported various charitable initiatives, including education and healthcare projects in India.The nature of being an entrepreneur means that you fully embrace ambiguity and are comfortable with being challenged regularly. Especially when having to go out for startup fundraising. Choosing this career path is completely irrational because the odds of succeeding are dismal, but most succeed because of their unwavering belief, laser focus on delivering and persistence.
