With over a decade of research experience in biomarker discovery, assay development, protein biochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and downstream processing, I am a self-driven molecular biologist. My result-oriented approach has been sharpened through 3 years of industrial experience and successfully managing a customer-facing self-owned business for one year. The academic and industrial settings have cultivated valuable qualities in me, including strong interpersonal skills, a knack for troubleshooting, and unwavering persistence.During my tenure at Akoya, I diligently pursued the application of cutting-edge techniques and the integration of multi-omics data to catalyze advancements in drug discovery and precision medicine. In a remarkably short period of only two years, I played an instrumental role in the development of chemistries capable of detecting over 100 proteins and RNAs on a single cancer tissue section, exhibiting unprecedented levels of sensitivity and specificity. This achievement necessitated the optimization of microfluidic patterns, the meticulous troubleshooting of the detection algorithm, and fruitful collaborations with other industry-leading organizations to realize a truly comprehensive multi-omic bioassay.During my Ph.D., I focused on characterizing Mindbomb2 (Mib2), an E3 ubiquitin ligase, as a regulator of collective cell migration, a principal phenomenon for cancer metastasis. Through my research, I demonstrated that Mib2 regulates the Jak/Stat signaling pathway and stabilizes cytoskeletal proteins to govern the active migration of border cells in Drosophila ovaries. In addition, I collaborated with four cross-functional multidisciplinary teams to investigate the role of microRNAs in collective migration. Our findings on the role of Jak/Stat signaling in the regulation and relevance of human cancer and metastasis were published in a widely acclaimed review article, garnering over 60 citations in just two years. Throughout my career, I have honed my scientific writing skills, resulting in three travel grants, two NIH research grants, 15+ international presentations, and reviewing five research articles for journals. Aditionally, I have had the privilege of instructing over 500 students and mentoring three graduate students and nine undergraduate students during my Ph.D.Beyond the lab, I am a table tennis enthusiast and a bakery business owner with a flair for designing cakes. I also strongly believe in the importance of science advocacy and aspire to be an ambassador of science for young minds.
