My previous postdoc position at the Environmental Defense Fund sits at the nexus of science, policy, and communications. I lead policy-relevant research and support data analytics efforts that have a tangible impact on real world challenges. This includes co-authoring and contributing to more than a dozen journal articles, memos, reports, factsheets and blog posts. Being part of the cross-program climate science team, I serve as an advisor to EDF initiatives that tackle other environmental challenges, such as fishery management and air quality control. Working with communication and policy experts at EDF, we translate the latest scientific research to comprehensible and actionable messages. Communications of climate science often follow the news cycle and need to be timely, especially during an extreme weather event. I enjoy being part of the hurricane response team at EDF and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
