My entrepreneurial life in the IT world began when I was 13 and sold a video game to a computer magazine. What transpired was a year long commitment to tech support from readers all around the world, and even back then I excelled in helping others. That early work with non technical people developed into a unique skill – the ability to talk about technology and solutions in plain terms.Since then I have been at the forefront of end user technology and the back end systems that make it all work. From massive SQL databases to mission critical networks that blended together dissimilar systems throughout Western Canada’s tallest building, and from small one person shops to worldwide projects, my experience in every facet of modern technology and every arm of business operations sets the stage for efficient and production solutions.My last major project was as part of the opening team for the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver, where as Director of IT I installed and deployed a huge infrastructure to see the hotel succcessfully launch on schedule and under budget.Prior to the Shangri-La Hotel, I spent a few years at the Westin Grand Hotel Vancouver as Systems Manager and carried them through a complete overhaul and upgrade of their IT systems while ensuring their 24/7 operations were never disrupted.My years NewspaperDirect as IT Operations Manager and part of their opening team helped develop my skills in worldwide deployments.I now own Technica Systems, a technical services company dedicated to Small and Medium Business IT.
