At GTL, we used SSRS to process roughly 300 reports that we generated nightly. We configured our SSRS server to either send out daily reports as email attachments or to be viewed via a link on the SSRS server itself for archiving purposes. I also integrated SSRS with Active Directory to create various groups based upon our existing organizational structure.In addition to SSRS, I used both Crystal Reports and other BI tools that provided a friendly GUI interface to help layout and design the reports and do basic configurations such as setting connection strings and executing MS SQL Server stored procedures to retrieve the actual underlying data.I also created SSIS packages used to extract data from thousands of text files from hundreds of vendors and government organizations used to import all the data into a MS SQL Server database.
