Numerically analyzed the effect of 3-dimensional Electro-hydrodynamic flow over a flat plate for forced convection cooling using CD-Adapco’s Star CCM+. Formulated a mathematical model that includes the coupling of space charge generation, space charge diffusion, fluid dynamics and heat transfer. Particular attention was devoted to correctly modeling the relation between the electric field at the anode and the amount of charge injected from the anode corona into the neutral gas region.The effect of the electric potential on the fluid dynamics was observed and reported. Boundary layer reduction over the flat plate was successfully shown in the simulation.
