I am an exceptionally motivated and enthusiastic human rights defender (HRD) with long experience in mainstream news media, Communications and Gender perspective. I am a passionate journalist, women's rights activist, and feminist from Bangladesh. I am also an enlisted writer for Feministiskt Perspektiv in Sweden. In 2013, I founded the Women Chapter, the first online writing platform for women in Bangladesh to fight against fanaticism and patriarchal society. As a result, I was threatened several times by different actors and forced to leave my country. Since 2018, I have been living in exile in Sweden. In 2020, I registered my portal as a non-profit organization, Women Chapter International (WCI), which has already worked in Bangladesh, Sweden, the USA, and East European Countries. This organization focuses on political, economic, and religious discrimination and violence against women and the violation of human rights, freedom of expression, and human rights.The portal Women Chapter was created for those women who want to express themselves without hesitation and without any taboos. WC wanted to break the silence and break the taboos and raise women's unheard voices, which are the main goals of this platform. The Women Chapter is not merely a portal but also a movement towards change.I started my career as a Communication Associate in a non-government organization, and my specialization is media, communication and journalism, and worked with various famous media houses, including Prothom Alo, BBC, bdnews24.com, MAASRANGA TV, Jamuna TV etc. Besides this worked as a consultant with Save the Children, UNICEF, ADB and Disaster Forum. In these Development organizations, I had to go through different type of development works like situation analysis during the devastating cyclone SIDR, rehabilitation works after SIDR, development of WATSAN strategy in the SIDR affected areas imparted training to the coastal belt people on how to cope with natural disasters. Traveled to the affected areas several times and did many reports for various media houses as well as relevant organizations.I am going to create a business in Sweden for distressed women from Bangladesh so that they can sell their products through my company Women Chapter Village - crafts, textiles and spices.
