I, Dr. Supriya Ghosh, postdoctoral researcher at Ohio State University USA. Before that I was Alexander von Humboldt fellow in Department of Physics and Earth Sciences in the Jacobs University Bremen, Germany. I have completed my Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) and Lund University, Sweden. I am experimentalist and I have worked on fundamental and advanced spectroscopic and microscopic techniques, such as steady state and time reolved absorption, emission and Raman spectroscopy, wide field microscopy. Moreover, I have experience on material characterization techniques and material synthesis (such as nanomaterial, semiconductor nanocrystals, microcrystals). In my research, I have focused myself on the field of photophysics and photochemistry with the goal to gain a better understanding of the fundamentals of photoinduced charge-carrier dynamics on a fast and ultrafast time scale. My previous studies are based on some novel semiconducting material such as semiconductor NCs (Inorganic Chalcogenide) and organo-metal halide perovskite (both NCs, MCs and 2D sheets). Recently, I am working on underlying photophysical and photochemical processes in metal-semiconductor composites and metal-DNA assemblies. The purpose of my research is to optimize the key components of novel semiconductors, metal-semiconductor composite and metal nanocluster for their applications in optoelectronic and photocatalytic devices. The longer term aim is to drastically improve the photovoltaic, LEDs and photocatalytic efficiency.
