About Supriya Thanawala
As a project manager, I enable the production and development of a range of fiction and non-fiction books published by Westchester's global clientielle of international publishers.Previously a journalist since the heady, post-dotcom years of the early 2000s, I've exploited the narrative to practically every editorial department alive on the map. I've written for city newspapers, b2b websites, lifestyle/Sunday magazines as well as video and television. Over the years, I've lived in the throes of action-packed hard news while breaking stories as a local reporter as well as have mastered the art to a succinct feature as a writer and editor. I authored my first book on sexuality politics — "Sex, Drama, and the Politics of Masculinity: A Treatise on the Indian Anti-Hero" in 2022 (available on Amazon) — and produced "Newsroom Underground" (2021), a documentary film on media ethics. These two projects were at the fulcrum of what is closest to my heart — I want people to know and understand our cultural narratives through the ever-unstoppable politics of the media, and I want them to understand our identities and where we come from.With such a 360-degree orientation in media production and management — which includes an academic background in English Literature from the universities of Delhi and Mumbai coupled with the above cross-functional expertise working with diverse departments across the publishing and journalism industry — my goal is to contribute to literature and the arts and the media, by making it accessible to every single one of us.Change is constant.
